The Important Stuff

    • No running, diving, bombing, backflips or shoulder rides. 

    • No sliding along the edge of the pool. 

    • No jumping off the poolside onto boogie boards. 

    • No hard balls. 

    • No bikes, scooters, skateboards or rollerblades. 

    • No alcohol or glass inside the pool gate. 

    • Persons under 16 years old may not use the pool outside public hours without the continuous and diligent supervision of a parent or guardian. This is an essential condition of pool use.

    • Children under 5 years must be accompaniedin the water by a person over 16 years old.

    • Children aged between 5 - 8 years old must be actively supervised by a person over 16 years old. 

    • Swimming lane/s are for length swimmers only. 

    • No playing on the lane ropes.

  • 1. KEYS

    Each key is issued to a specific, private domestic household and must not be shared, transferred, copied or used for commercial use of whatever kind without prior arrangement with the Sumner Community Pool Committee (“the Committee”).

    2. DUTY

    Key Holders over the age of 18 years may volunteer for rostered duties throughout the season. Pool Rules must be observed and adhered to.

    3. VISITORS

    Key Holders are responsible for all actions and omissions of their guests or invitees at all times whilst using the pool or its surrounds. All visitors, guests or invitees must pay the specified admission fee in the honesty box.

    4. CONDUCT DURING USE OF THE POOL

    Key Holders, their children and invitees must conduct themselves with respect for others and their property at all times. Any person behaving in a manner that causes or is likely to cause damage to property or danger/distress to others will be asked to leave the pool site. The swimming pool is now a litter-free zone. Please take all your rubbish home. No alcohol or glass is permitted inside the pool complex.

    5. SUPERVISION OF MINORS

    Persons under 16 years may not use the pool outside public hours without the continuous and diligent supervision of a parent or guardian.

    6. ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS

    Any accidents or incidents should be reported to the Sumner Pool Committee by emailing admin@sumnerpool.co.nz

    7. NO USE OF THE POOL OUTSIDE SPECIFIED TIMES

    Key Holders may only use the pool during the hours of 6am -10am and 3pm - 8.30pm on school days, and 6am – 8.30pm on other days during the season. Any person using the pool outside those hours will be required to leave immediately.

    8. EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

    The Sumner Community Pool Incorporated, Sumner School, and any of their respective, officers, employees, contractors or agents exclude all liability (to the greatest extent permissible by law) for any loss howsoever arising through this agreement and for any loss, damage or destruction of property or injury to any person howsoever arising during or in connection with the use of the pool or its surrounds.

    9. PRIVACY ACT 1993

    All Key Holders grant access to the use of personal information being collected and used for reasonable purposes relating to the running of operation of the Sumner Community Pool. You can request access to your personal information being held by the Committee by emailing admin@sumnerpool.co.nz. All information is held securely and is digitally encrypted. In the instance of a data breach, you will be notified directly.

    10. BREACH OF AGREEMENT

    A breach of these terms and conditions risks cancellation of this agreement and forfeiture of keycard access.
